Programming Project
Self Powered Solar Tracker
Goal: Build a device that tracks the sun across the sky and angles a solar panel at the sun to charge a battery that powers multiple sensors.
- Role on team included circuit assembly, testing & troubleshooting, and
- Built a self-powered solar charger with active light tracking and bluetooth reporting environmental conditions such as temperature, irradiance, and position
- Implemented emergency battery recharge modes and minimized power usage to optimize for battery life
- Built with a Sparkfun Redboard, charging controller, and two servos. Coded with Arduino code.

Manufacturing Project
Robotic Machine Player
Goal: Design a Robotic Machine Player that can score as many points as possible in a stimulated game (For MECHENG 250: Design & Manufacturing "Game of Zones")- Worked with a team of 5 to pass milestones and face design and manufacturing challenges
- Role on team included engineering drawings, fabrication, assembly, and testing/troubleshooting.
- Used SolidWorks to design a remote controlled robot to accomplish given tasks such as picking up cubes, dispensing cubes, depositing cubes over a wall, and knocking objects off an high obstacle.
- Prototyped with foam and manufactured using machinery including: mill, lathe, water-jet, and laser cutter

Mechatronics Project
Robotic Machine Player
- Designed a 4-bar linkage that could catch, sort, throw, and deposit balls from two chutes in SolidWorks
- Role on team included programming, PID tuning, engineering drawings, and testing/troubleshooting
- Simulated motion in MSC Adams to find torque and power requirements
- Tuned a PID Controller to catch, throw, and deposit balls as quickly as possible using an Arduino microcontroller
- Calibrated a colorimeter to sort between different color balls
- Prepared engineering drawings and manufacturing plans for another team to manufacture

Capstone Design Project
Compression Device for 3D Spheroids in Microgravity
- Worked on a student team with the Liu Lab at the University of Michigan to construct a device to compress spheroids to predetermined strain values for a study of mechanotransduction of osteoblasts in microgravity.
- Role on team included 3D printing and design generation
- Using SpaceTango's CubeLab platform to send device to the International Space Station for experiments in microgravity
- Handled 3D printing of device using a Formlabs Form 3 SLA Printer
- Delivered finalized design files with detailed assembly and construction attached in light of course changes due to the COVID-19 Pandemic
